Megan starts water polo

This year has been the beginning of a challenging season for Megan. She is one of two 7th graders competing on the Weber High school team. Although she looks small in the pool playing against juniors and seniors, she carries the Tenney's love for the sport. Way to go Megan....

San Diego

Four A.M. couldn't come earlier for a 6:30 early flight from SLC to lovely San Diego-California. Nancy and I decided to celebrate our 22 years of friendship in the same city we spent part of our first year together. Upon arrival, we eagerly hitched a ride on the shuttle to Alamo rental car just a few blocks away from the airport. Our first stop-Coronado Island. We just could not wait for some sunny warm weather after a long winters nap. It's nearly 10 AM and we are strolling around the famous Hotel Del looking for a snack or two prior hitting the warm sand. (Real yogurt and banana muffin) Oh, how nice. Ocean salt touching my lips, palm trees swaying, sail boats, roaring of the waves, Petco Park, The Lamp district, sea birds, aircraft carriers (3 in port), San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Mission Beach, La Jolla, Ocean Beach, Dog Beach, Old Town, Padres vs Dodgers, Hyatt Grand Manchester Hotel, Seaport Village, Valley Mall (wow-Nancy went crazy), Tiffany's. All great adventures, but the best part was being with my love of my life. It is wonderful to be with her all by myself. It seldom happens, but gave me a glimpse of what it will be like when all the girls are married. I LOVE MY WIFE and SAN DIEGO.

Check Out U2's Stage

Chicago Soldier Field U2 -Sept 12th

Samantha Joins Weber High Womens SwimTeam

To be the sibling of an accomplished athlete can be a disorienting experience; you compete for recognition at home and cannot escape it in public. But what about when it comes to racing against 4 other girl swimmers of the same family? The Tenney Girls, 5 in total, have long been known for their pool finesse, but the 3rd girl in line-Sammy as she's called, is now racing against her older High School sister and the rest of Weber High School Girls swim team as only a 9th grader in a 3 year Junior High. Very few individuals make the 3year High School sports teams as a 9th grader, but it seems to be the norm for the Tenney Five. One of the reasons why college recruiters have their eyes on both Sammy and her older sister Laney is that both of them played High School Water Polo as well in the unprecedented 8th grade. Laney, even played Co-Ed with the Boys Varsity while only a 9th grader. It seems that the "water" in northern Utah has been made for the Tenney Family. Soon to come up in the ranks are two more other Tenney girls while the oldest Cassey has been retired from the water, she still maintains certifications in all water safety associations and can be found practicing her strokes at the BYU indoor pool. Keep your eyes open this season for exciting races during the swimming season and the soon to follow hard core matches of violent Water Polo.
